Grants for Youth Engagement and Leadership


The Honoutable Darin King, Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment and the Minister responsable for Youth Engagement announced a $75 000 investment under the Youth Engagement and Attraction Strategy, to enable young people throughout Newfoundland and Labrador to have access to grants for engagement and leadership opportunities. 

This initiative from YRAS will enable young people to engage in training and conferences desgined to help them develop the skills required to particpate as members of local boards, agencies anc ommunity groups. 

The Youth Grants for Engagment and Leadership initiative, being administered by the Harbour Breton Community Youth Network (CYN) on behalf of the province, was developed in cooperation with the COmmunity Youth Network and will provide grants up to a maximum of $1 500 per inidividual. Opportunity from The Young Decision Makers Network


    The Young Decision Makers Network has an opportunity for 8 young people to come to Ottawa March 3 and March 4 to consult with 30 business leaders, health experts, and government officials from the Public Health Agency of Canada. The purpose of the consultation is to examine how technology can impact and reach youth to promote health.

    To be eligible to be selected and come to Ottawa youth are asked to fill out a short survey at www.engagementsurvey.ca/health and then fill out the application, which is under the For More Information on the header of the website.

    Youth who are selected to attend will use the information gathered from the survey of youth across Canada to prepare a presentation as a group on March 3, then present to the Forum on March 4.

  • FINALY! to restucture

    April 11, 2011

    As of April 30, 2011 the FINALY! office on Pete St. in St. John's will be closing its doors. We want our members to know that FINALY! is not permanently closing but rather restructuring in an effort to better serve our membership.
